Every gardener evolves. We experiment and learn in our gardens.
We read gardening books and articles. We watch gardening videos.
And we gab with other gardeners.
Welcome Gardeners!
I’m Lucretia Schanfarber.
Just call me Lu.
Drawing upon the wisdom of many gardeners, I select, collect, and curate garden-related information and stories from experts and experimenters from around the world.
And then I share it with you here on Gabbing About Gardening.
I am blessed to have many Garden Teachers in my life. You will meet some of them here on this website.
My “Gabbing about Gardening” radio show and podcast features experienced and expert gardeners, writers, teachers, farmers and chefs who gab with me about a wide range of topics including permaculture, composting, cooking, seed-saving, soil health, community gardens, urban gardening, food security, medicinal plants, edible landscaping and much more. Guests on my show come from near and far, locally and globally.
Here are some of my recent podcast guests:

I live simply and garden organically on Quadra Island and Cortes Island, in the Salish Sea, on the west coast of Canada.
I’ve been gardening for a long time but I don’t think of myself as a gardening expert. I am more of an experimenter.
Gardens are our greatest teachers. Gardens have the power to heal us. From the foods and flowers we grow, to the soil we tend, I believe that gardening in harmony with Mama Nature is the answer to just about every problem we humans have created here on earth.
